Jack began studying the guitar at the age of 15 with Madison-based Jazz Mandolinist and guitarist Sims Delaney-Pothoff. When Jack graduated high school, Sims encouraged him to further his studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 2007. For half of 2011, Jack studied the music of Django Reinhardt at its source by moving to Paris, France. While there, he had the honor of jamming with the old masters like Boulou Ferré and Romanian violin maestro Florin Niculescu as well as the young virtuosos currently storming the Paris scene. Since coming back to Boston, Jack has played as a guest, or regular member with just about every Gypsy Jazz band in the Boston area. At the beginning of 2013 Jack joined the New England Gypsy Flamenco Swing Trio
. He is featured on their albums 'Hot!', and 'Sun Shine Soul' which was released in May of 2015. As a member of Ameranouche Jack has traveled all over the country, with gigs taking the band as far as California, as well as the Midwest, and frequent visits down south to NY, NJ, VA, and NC. When the band isn't on tour, they can be seen at venues all over New England.
As a music teacher, Jack has been instructing in many different musical styles almost as long as he’s played the guitar. Sharing what he’s learned remains one of his greatest passions. Jack has taught students at all levels from absolute beginners to semi-professional musicians, and adults to children as young as 8 years old.
